Pleasant, family oriented place. The steaks are reliably good and fairly priced, the sides are fresh and the hummus is authentic. We return each time we are in Waterville.
I have been to Joseph's many times. I love a great medium rare steak and eat out frequently at steak houses. The quality of the steak at Joseph's is very good and the flavor is nice as well, but the price is over the top ridiculous. Nearly $30 for a 12 ounce ribeye. Now it would be worth it if it could come cooked properly but last night my first one was medium at best. Medium rare is a warm red center guys. NOT a light pink center. When I pointed it out a manager came to the table and stated, "that's what OUR medium rare look like." Excuse me folks but there is only ONE kind of medium rare, it doesn't vary by restaurant. So I begrudgingly agreed to keep it to not make a stink. My waitress came back and agreed it was definitely medium and took it away. The manager returned later with my new steak and a big smile. I cut into it and it was exactly the same, light pink. I just ate it. My potato showed up when I was done with my steak. I had eaten a small salad and had one drink. My bill was $45 with tip. I heard my neighbor at another table say to his table mate while holding up a well done piece if prime rib, "this is what they call medium rare". Very disappointed.
Wow, we walked in with a party of 8 with no notice, were seated promptly and served efficiently. Best of all, the food was awesome. I highly recommend the fried bacon appetizer and the blue cheese encrusted filet.
Food is awesome. Staff is very friendly and we have gone often and never once had a complaint. However, prices are far to high now. We used to get 12 wings for 9.00 and today we paid 17.50 for 12 wings. About doubled! That's way too pricey for wings. When we asked, we were told they had to go up on some items and lowered on other items. Unfortunately wings is something we get quite often so will have to go somewhere else in the future.
